Hi there. This is the new me, in Roma, Italia, where I live now.
What am I doing here for a living? I'm excited about designing more custom blogs for photographers like yourselves, updating my blog design website with simple and darling blog templates, shooting more photographic art, updating my portion of Italy (and otherwise) imagery for the VagabondBond blog, selling more imagery (and photo-related products) via etsy, writing poetry, journaling about my life here, learning how to play the mandolin, enjoying the best tasting cappuccinos i've ever had in my life, deepening my friendship with this lovely girl (especially while I'm living with her!), shooting destination weddings and engagements here in Italy, France, and Greece with the same lovely girl, and learning to let go of my expectations (Italy is the place to let go of them). If you're ever planning a trip to Italy, please email me -- I'd love to connect with you!
I spent today roaming around Rome, but not in the fashion of a tourist. Certainly, it is one thing to experience Places as a visitor and another to be invited in as an inhabitant; I've been here two days and yet I don't feel like a foreigner. As Gina and I walked through alleyways, streets, and the gorgeous Villa Borghese (an amazing, huge park somewhat similar to Golden Gate Park), I became one with this extraordinary place: it was as if Rome was viewing me from the outside, inward, examining my thoughts, expectations, and excitement--expressing what it saw by revealing to me its pillars and steep stone steps, cobblestone walkways, the strong smell of petrol, the tapshoes-sound of small dried leaves falling on sidewalks, and teenagers curled up on the lap of their boys, arms scarving around their necks and shoulders, kissing as if they believed no one could spot them.
Here's a picture of me that Gina took just a few minutes ago after we returned from walking around Rome all morning. Her Warm Pears blog has Italian imagery to-die-for .. so you must go check it out!
Ciao Ciao!
